Combater a pobreza através da água
Um exemplo de como a tecnologia, se usada adequadamente, pode contribuir para melhorar os níveis de desenvolvimento das populações, reduzindo a pobreza em que vivem. Neste caso, a Practical Action, trabalha no Malawi para levar eletricidade às populações, utilizando a água do rio.

"Faith on the move" é um excelente recurso para relacionar os conteúdos da população - migrações e diversidade cultural. Pode ainda descarregar o relatório (aqui).

Estados falhados
A revista Foreign Policy online divulga, novamente, o Índice dos estados falhados, relativo a 2011, através do qual demonstra a situação de vários estados do mundo, em particular do continente africano, no que respeita aos níveis de desenvolvimento, direitos humanos, situação política, entre outros. Destaque para o dossier fotográfico "Postcards from Hell, 2011", que ilustram algumas das situações mais graves.
